Temperatures are falling rapidly, and the cold is getting to me much more than I had expected.
A few of us were talking about love last night.
A girl mentioned that the guys she spoke to, have had relationships in the past that didn't carry through, and to them, those girls are still The One. She commented on how it seems unfair, because the girls that they date in future, will always pale in comparison. In simple, the guys don't really want anyone else.
I asked, what is wrong with that?
She answered, that there might be an illusion of perfection. If the guy(s) should get back into a relationship with the girl(s) again, perhap that idealisation of a prefect relationship will crumble, and therefore isn't it better just to leave it?
I said, of course not. How can you just leave things that are important to you?
She said, it would hurt her more if it fails, because she wants perfection to remain perfect.
I'd rather have given my best to know that it wouldn't work out, if it wouldn't, than to let it pass. If I had the chance.
She couldn't concur, but her choice did cast some light into the darkness.
