Lately I have been taught -
Feelings are volatile;
Memories are eventually erased,
Like outdated data.

Easily said,
Easily forgotten,
It could all have been lies,
Fiction beautifully written.
Yet I am still
Pointlessly nostalgic,
Unable to quit.

I am a slow learner.

When did I start liking you?
And when did I fall in love with you?

Even if it was just the idea of you?

These hand-written letters I found from the back of a folder, tucked somewhere behind my files in my room, spelled how I felt for you 5 years ago.

The first one was dated 19 July 2001.
I must have liked you much before that, because in the beginning of that letter I described the feeling as "somewhat magical", and also because I was already praying that you never vanish off without a trace.

The last one, dated 20 August 2001, was about the loss of words, and fate.
It ended with a quote, loosely translated as:

The split second in which I fell in love with you seemed too long;
But the lifetime that could be spent with you seems too brief.

The relativity of time...

McKean finally left home for UK in June 2003.

But McKean has lost Leafy forever.

Leafy was the Ice-Queen, the RainbowFlag, the Fei, the love of McKean's life.

She still is.

Leafy doesn't see what she left behind.

McKean does.
